Ash Perform Impromptu Pixies Tribute

The rest of the band joined lead singer Tim Wheeler on stage last night...
The Ash frontman was heading up a "Supergroup" charged with performing Pixies tracks at XOYO in London last night.
Emmy The Great, And So I Watched You From Afar, Ma Mentor and The Crookes all took part in the on-stage collaboration/tribute as part of the JD Set series.
Wheeler ended the evening by bringing on the rest of Ash for the encore - performing traditional Pixies closer 'Into the White' - before finishing with what Wheeler termed "pixies rip-offs" - 'Petrol' and 'Burn Baby Burn' in front of an audience of industry types and competition winners.
Russell Lissack was still in guitarist role - despite Wheeler recently saying Ash are looking for a replacement, with Lissack "returning to his day-job".
The news has sparked rumours of a Bloc Party return.
The band went on hiatus in 2009.
