New Manic Street Preachers Album Influenced By Aerosmith

Nicky Wire tells Xfm the next record will be their equivalent of ‘Pump’.

Manic Street Preachers have taken a leaf out of Aerosmith’s book and their huge late-eighties comeback records ‘Permanent Vacation’ and ‘Pump’, according to Nicky Wire. The bass playing legend also told Xfm that work on the follow up to ‘Journal Of Plague Lovers’ was going well and that the progress so far was “really exciting”.

“It’s going to be an amazing album”, he told us. “‘Send Away The Tigers’ was ‘Permanent Vacation’, this next one is our ‘Pump’.”

The band are currently putting the finishing touches to the record in a Cardiff studio with producer Dave Eringa, the producer behind 'Gold Against The Soul' and 'Send Away The Tigers'.
