Jamie From The xx to Release Solo Single
"I just bought this steel pan and wanted to use it"...
Jamie Smith from the XX has announced that he is releasing a solo single entitled 'Far Nearer'.
The Mercury Prize winners are co-hosting tonight's X-Posure with John Kennedy.
Jamie played down the move, saying: "It's a tune I made on one of our short breaks from touring and I was eager to make some new music. I got a steel pan and made this track and it is coming out on Numbers Records in about a month or so."
It is not known under what name he will release the track - Jamie XX or Jamie Smith or something else.
You can listen to the band co-hosting alongside John Kennedy - including Jamie's new single - tonight (September 28) at 10pm.
