Courteeners’ Liam Plays Iconic Venue

Xfm brings Liam Fray to Salford Lads Club.

Xfm is excited to announce an intimate acoustic gig with Liam Fray of The Courteeners at Salford Lads Club on Wednesday August 18.

Fans of the critically acclaimed four-piece have the chance to get up close and personal with frontman Liam as he performs material from the band’s albums ‘St Jude And Falcon’ at this invite-only event.

Rich in musical history, Salford Lads Club is bound to provide a unique gig experience. Established in 1903, the club was immortalised in the gatefold sleeve of The Smiths’ seminal 1986 album ‘The Queen is Dead’ and also appears in the band’s video for ‘I Started Something I Couldn’t Finish’.

Morrissey contrbuted £20,000 towards the cost of its recent refurbishment and Fray's acooustic performance will be the first gig there since then.

Asked if Morrissey would be keeping an eye on his old hang-out, Liam, whose band supported The Smiths' icon on tour last year, quipped, “I’m sure he’ll be following it, there’ll be an invitation in the post to him somewhere.
