Noel and Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, the Manic's James Dean Bradfield and ex-Beatle Ringo Starr's son Zak are joining forces to form a supergroup playing the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.

The supergroup will play on the March 30 date of the five-night event organised by Daltrey and Pete Townsend from The Who to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.

So far the group - which Xfm Online can reveal has been named Trust - will include Daltrey, the Gallagher brothers, Oasis guitarist Gem Archer, Paul Weller, The Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield and Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey – a renowned session drummer himself – who has spent the last two days rehearsing with the band in a north London studio.

The group will be splitting up vocal duties for a selection of songs on the night which will be headlined by the Stereophonics.

Also appearing at the event are The Coral, Tom Jones, Dave Gilmour, Solomon Burke, Jools Holland, Marc Almond, Mica Paris, Ruby Turner and The Who themselves, who will be performing the whole of their rock opera ‘Tommy’.

There’s also a British comedy night, compered by Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge featuring Little Britain’s Matt Lucas and David Walliams plus a rare live set from The Rutles.

Previous events have featured appearances from Eddie Vedder, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Richard Ashcroft, Doves, Supergrass and Ash and have raised over £2 million for the charity.

The current line-up details are as follows:

  • The Who play ‘Tommy’ + guests (March 29)
  • Stereophonics + guests (30)
  • ‘The Cream Of British Comedy’ hosted by Alan Partridge (31)
  • Jools Holland, David Gilmour, Solomon Burke, Marc Almond, Ruby Turner and Mica Paris (1)
  • Tom Jones + guests (April 2)

Tickets are available from the Royal Albert Hall Box Office on 0207 589 8212 and the TCT Hotline on 0870 143 2201.
