Disc One - Rock

'In Your Honour'
"I was really inspired by these people that would come out and join together and try to make change or make a difference..." [listen]

'No Way Back'
"It's like falling in love with someone and warning them like 'Just so you know there's no way back from here, this is it, this is the real deal'." [listen]

'Best of You'
"We didn't even think it was a single, in fact Dave had to kind of pull it out of the trash when our manager came into the studio and heard what we were doing  and said 'Where's that best of you song?'" [listen]

'DOA'
"That's a weird one man - the first version of that it was a mix between early Police and Byrds." [listen]

'Hell'
"That was just the perfect little bridge to break in the middle. Plus it's just badass: the drums are awesome." [listen]

'The Last Song'
"Why are you saying my chick's name dude? That's screwed up!" [listen]

'Free Me'
"'Free Me' is a good example of a song that - 'bing!' - came to me about an hour before we had to record it." [listen]

'Resolve'
"There was one we just overproduced man, we turned it into, like, 'Ordinary World' by Duran Duran, it was so out of control! We scrapped it." [listen]

'The Deepest Blues Are Black'
"It's that feeling when you're slipping into a funk, when you start to feel the clouds come over your head." [listen]

'End Over End'
"It's a nice way to reassure myself that I know I'm going to wind up reliving this situation somehow, somewhere, and I don't mind 'cos it's a beautiful place to be." [listen]

Disc Two - Acoustic

'Still'
"I don't know why but that song just inspired me to write about something I'd forgotten about for 30 or 25 years or something." [listen]

'What If I Do?'
"It's basically an ode to North Carolina, which is somewhere I spent a lot of time over the past ten years." [listen]

'Miracle'
"For our band, I think this album really shows the wide range of songwriting that we're capable of doing - the acoustic record is this new beginning." [listen]

'Another Round'
"This song was written around the time of the second album, this was written maybe eight years ago and just never really had a place on any of the other records." [listen]

'Friend of A Friend'
"That was actually the first song I ever wrote just on an acoustic guitar, I recorded it on this four track and played it for a friend when I got home..." [listen]

'Over And Out'
"It's about feeling disconnected from other people. It's about feeling like you just want to break through to someone in order to... get through to their core. Just get through to somebody." [listen]

'On The Mend'
"'On The Mend' is kind of old, it's an older track that was written probably four years ago or something like that." [listen]

'Virginia Moon'
"I was at home in Virginia and I was just fooling around - and I found a new chord!" [listen]

'Cold Day In The Sun'
"When I came into the studio I intentionally had a sort of 'Every Picture Tells A Story', Rod Stewart or even Faces thing in mind..." [listen]

'Razor'
"I had this riff and I thought 'This riff is kinda bad-ass, I like this and it ain't easy. I might do this just so people can go 'Woah! He can actually play guitar!'" [listen]
