Alt Rock Legend Pens Nirvana Sleeve Notes

It has emerged that the sleeve notes for the forthcoming Nirvana box set ‘With The Lights Out’ have been written by Sonic Youth singer and guitarist Thurston Moore.
As Kurt Cobain was a renowned Sonic Youth fan, it seems fitting that Thurston Moore has been chosen to write the liner notes for the forthcoming Nirvana rarities collection, ‘With The Lights Out’. The bands even toured together in Europe documented in the film ‘1991: The Year That Punk Broke’.
The set, due November 22 in the UK, will feature a 60-page booklet with notes written by Moore and a collection of unpublished photos.
The full tracklisting for the box set is currently unknown, although various theories surround its contents. These are drawn from 2002 interviews with Krist Novoselic in which radio sessions, studio outtakes, live stuff and a Butch Vig raw mix of ‘Teen Spirit’ were rumoured to be included.
A collection of Kurt Cobain's demo recordings are also mooted for inclusion following Courtney Love’s admission that she was in possession of 109 tapes of her Cobain’s solo material.
The set will be also feature a DVD of rare music videos and live footage. There is a special website devoted to the boxset which can be found at www.nirvanabox.com although other than the release date there are few details at present.
