Darkness Confirm Tour And DVD

Xfm can reveal that the mighty Darkness will be following up their series of summer festival appearances with a huge headlining UK arena tour this winter, a new DVD package and a new album expected out early in 2005.
Following on from their headlining shows at the T In The Park and Oxegen festivals last weekend and their upcoming slots at the Carling Reading and Leeds Weekender, The Darkness will be playing a series of huge UK gigs this winter.
Xfm Online can reveal that the band will be undertaking an 18-date UK arena tour over November and December this year, which will possibly include an astonishing three nights at Wembley Arena.
The band are also planning on releasing a new DVD compilation in time for Christmas this year. The double disc set will feature a documentary made by Nick Abrahams,
all the band’s videos (including the rarely seen video for ‘Friday Night’) and an early homemade video for ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’.
Contradicting early reports that the band had begun working on their new album with producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lang, The Darkness have revealed that they will be starting to record the follow up to 2003’s 1.4 million selling debut ‘Permission To
Land’ with Queen and Cheap Trick producer Roy Thomas Baker early next year.
The band played one of their new songs at T In The Park last weekend. Entitled 'Hazel Eyes', the song new song, in a heavy metal marching band style, was dedicated to "Scottish fisherwomen."
The Darkness will be headlining The Carling Reading / Leeds Weekender which takes place from Friday August 27 till 29 at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Wetherby, Leeds respectively.
