Chili Peppers Announce Tracklisting For Live LP

As previously reported on Xfm Online, to mark their trio of UK summer shows the Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a ‘Live In Hyde Park’ album later this month. Surprisingly, this is the band’s first official live album and is set to be a double CD containing 27 tracks and a photo booklet to boot.

The band played to an estimated 100,000 people on each night of their gigs in the park (June 19, 20 and 25) with a set spanning their full career with even a couple of new songs, eclectic cover versions and a Chad Smith drum solo. Oh great.

Captured on the album are a couple of the bizarre covers the band played. Namely 'I Feel Love' by Donna Summer and 'Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)' by cult US rockers Looking Glass. But the version of ‘Transmission’ by Joy Division that the band played on the night didn’t make it to the final cut.

'Live In Hyde Park' will only be released in Europe, Australia, Japan and New Zealand (not the US) and is tentatively pencilled in for an August 2 release.
