X-clusive: Ash Meet Star Wars Creator

We can confirm the rumours that Ash have been invited to meet Start Wars creator George Lucas at his Skywalker Ranch in Los Angeles as Tim Wheeler speaks to Xfm Online about a secret Star Wars project (and watching Coldplay’s Chris Martin get murdered).

Rumours had been circulating that the band were involved with Lucas, but we can confirm that they will be having talks with the reclusive director at his rarely seen studio complex later this month.

“We’re going to Skywalker Ranch in a couple of weeks,” explained Wheeler, “We’re all gonna be over there cos we’re playing the Coachella Festival in Palm Springs just outside LA, but George Lucas wants to meet us.”

“We got contacted by the head of Lucasarts in the UK, she knew we’re massive Star Wars fans, and she hooked it all up. I’m intrigued to see what’s gonna happen – but it’s gonna be cool. We’ll be put up in the apartments at Skywalker Ranch! It’s gonna be amazing!”

“I think it could be about a computer game he’s making, or it may be some soundtrack work. Who knows? I think George has been aware of us for quite a few years cos we played the wrap party for ’Star Wars: Episode 1’. It’s gonna be amazing though. They’ve got ‘Ewok Lake’ there – so we’re gonna go and throw stones in it.”

Wheeler also spoke about Ash’s own hugely anticipated homemade zombie movie ‘Slashed’, which according to the singer keeps on expanding as they keep having to find roles for special guests (Dave Grohl, Moby, James Nesbit, The Vines, The Hives, The Dandy Warhols and Coldplay are already in the film) with no end in site 

“’Slashed’? I don’t know if we’ll ever get round to finishing it,” Wheeler continued, “It was something that was meant to be finished in two weeks, but as we met more and more celebrities they all got roped in and the plot got thinner and thinner – it just never seems to end.

“I’d like to get something finished so people can see it cos there’s some really funny bits in there, like Chris Martin getting gruesomely murdered, that’s a laugh. Chris is probably the best actor in the whole thing, he does a very good Sherlock Holmes impression.”
