The World Cup Hypnosis Experiment

09 July 2010

So Cocker claimed that it would be possible to hypnotise some Xfm listeners into believing England had won the 2010 World Cup. Did he succeed? Find out here...

A few days ago, Tim Cocker pondered whether it would be possible to recreate the joy of winning the World Cup artifically. Could someone be hypnotised into thinking England had gone the distance? Luckily, hypnotist Alistair Stevenson was up for the challenge and a cross-section of Xfm listeners were assembled in the hottest room known to man to watch the legendary 1966 England World Cup win on DVD.  Would they be fooled into thinking it was this year's tournament? And would one of the merry crew believe that he was actually Paul, the psychic, football-loving octopus?
