X-posure Hits South By Southwest

Ever the intrepid musical explorer, John Kennedy hits South by Southwest to find the greatest bands at this year's shindig. Here, he reports back and tells us how it's all progressing...
John's Diary From South By Southwest
John Kennedy reports from South By Southwest to give his daily run-down on the carnage and whirlwind of activity that makes up the greatest new music festival in the world.
In his first instalment of the audio diary, John gets taken aback by the sunshine and heat of the sweltering Austin weather. Venturing out of his hotel room, he catches the first of many bands beginning to make waves at this year's SXSW. [Listen to part one of John's diary]
In his second instalment of his diary, and with the festival in full swing, John gets a little freaked out by the limitless gigs and happenings at the festival. Reeling off the bands he's seen as if reading a phone book, it's safe to say that John hasn't been distracted too much by the free barbeques and beer. [Listen to part two of John's diary]
Fatigue is for part-timers. It's the third instalment of JK's diary and still the list of gigs is as long as the queues outside the SXSW venues. Make Model, Ting Tings and The Morning Benders get the X-posure once over before heading to the airport and, finally, catching up on some sleep. [Listen to part three of John's diary]

John's SXSW Interviews
John Kennedy, along with Xfm Scotland's Jim Gellatly, were the first to corner Scottish sensations The Dykeenies at SXSW. Helping to celebrate Andy Dykeenie's birthday, no doubt with a few ribs and free beer, Jim and John get the low-down on the band's visit to Austin Texas. [Listen to the interview]
Venturing outside of their hotel room this time, Jim and John corner Joe Lean and The Jing Jang Jong. Batting away offers to join the band in the interests of alliteration overload, the X-posure double act find out about the band's American plans. [Listen to the interview]
Former Test Icicle and current Lightspeed Champion Dev Hynes tells John and Jim about illuminating this year's SXSW. He tells them about the ten bands that everyone needs to see and the thousands otehr sthat probably don't. [Listen to the interview]
Sons And Daughters join the X-posure tag team to accuse Jim of stalking the band all the way from Glasgow. Fancy hearing about Lou Reed's orange fleece and yellow trainers? Then let the Scottish folk rockers spill the beans... [Listen to the interview]
Ultra-cool London mob The Duke Spirit join Jim and John in their hotel room to tell teh pair about spending time in the States, their new album and their observations on SXSW. [Listen to the interview]
