Wife who poisoned husband caged

A wife who gave her husband rat poison and anti-depressants has been jailed indefinitely.
Heather Mook, 58, tricked John Mook into taking the toxic cocktail while she fleeced his mother of £43,000.
Judge James Spencer gave Mook an indeterminate sentence for public protection at York Crown Court and ordered her to serve five years before she is considered for parole.
She fooled her husband, a 60-year-old bus driver, into taking tablets, claiming that they were muscle relaxants.
It is believed she also poisoned him by lacing his spaghetti bolognese with rat pellets.
While he was in hospital recovering from the poisoning she again tricked him into taking more tablets.
Mr Mook recovered from his ordeal and later realised his wife had taken £43,000 from the sale of his mother Freda's house.
Mook, of Heslington Road, York, was found guilty of two counts of poisoning her husband to endanger his life.
She admitted less serious alternative charges, including administering rat killer and 19 theft-related offences.
Following her conviction, it was revealed she has a previous conviction for poisoning her seven-year-old daughter in 1982.
She also has a string of previous convictions for dishonesty and deception - including a £5 million luxury car and property scam.
Judge Spencer told Mook: "You have committed many offences - offences committed over a period of time, offences committed with great callousness and cynicism for your own good, for your own enrichment and for your own benefit."
Outside the court Mr Mook described the sentence as "fair", adding: "I'm pleased it is all over."
