REM Appeal To Find Stolen Guitar

added 11 September 2008 at 13.18

REM are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of a Rickenbacker guitar stolen at the band’s show in Helsinki.

The guitar belongs to REM guitarist Peter Buck, and was stolen from the side of the stage immediately following the band’s show in Helsinki, Finland, on Tuesday night (September 9).

The black-and-white Rickenbacker has been Buck’s signature guitar since the band released ‘Chronictown’ in 1982, and featured heavily on their most recent album, ‘Accelerate’.

An REM spokesperson said: “This instrument means a great deal to Peter and to R.E.M. It is our sincere hope that whoever is responsible for the loss, or whoever has information which can help recover the guitar, will come forward to receive a generous reward, no questions asked.”

Please email any information you have to fanclub@remtour.com or call (001) 707 3536689.
