Sign Up For Oxjam - And Get Cash To Do It!

As part of Oxfam's music festival, Oxjam, we're looking for 16-25 year olds to organise music events throughout October to raise money for a brilliant cause and help end poverty. What's more, through Xfm's partnership with Oxjam and the charity v, you could get your hands on £250 to help make your event happen!
Oxjam is Oxfam's massive ongoing initiative to get musicians, promoters - in fact, absolutely everyone - to come together this October to make music, raise money and help end poverty.
And we want you to get involved. It works like this. We're asking for people aged between 16 and 25 to organise a live music event that will raise money for Oxfam this October. To help you along, you can apply for £250 toward staging your event, as well as receiving promotion on Xfm itself.
So not only can you make money for a worthwhile cause, but the bands involved could also get some pretty impressive promotion from it.
All you have to do is go to the official Oxjam website by clicking here and tell us all about you event. Oxfam and Xfm will go through all the entries, the final 200 events will be chosen by Oxfam and us here at Xfm and by September 3 those lucky organisers will each be given £250 towards making their event happen, plus a pack of Oxjam essentials including our handy toolkit, guides, banners for your website, poster, flyers and more.
In its first year in 2006, around 1,100 Oxjam events took place, and it's estimated that around 20,000 musicians performed and 100,000 people attended an Oxjam event. So it's already big, and with your help it can be even bigger!
We don't care about the size of the venue or lineup: it can be one band, three bands or more and it can feature any style of music. If you reckon you can raise some money for Oxfam, then it's worth submitting an application. We're not looking for big name stars or famous artists - quite the opposite, in fact. The beauty of Oxjam is that hundreds of small events make up one huge festival.

This whole initiative has been set up with V, a charity set up to inspire a new generation of 16-25 year old volunteers and to get involved in a variety of community activities including local radio, environmental initiatives, sports clubs, international projects and - as in this case - music led events that have a real impact on hugely worthwhile charities such as Oxfam.
Whatever you're into, you can use your passions, skills and talents to make a real impact. Find out more at www.vinspired.com.
