The Xfm Residency - Manic Street Preachers

James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire came into the Xfm studios to unveil some of their favourite tunes. Take a listen.
May sees the arrival of Welsh wonders the Manic Street Preachers in the Residency chair. The duo of James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire are set to take over the Xfm airwaves every Sunday this month between 9 and 10pm.
The duo have promised tracks from the likes of The Horrors, plus classics from 80s hardcore punkers the Minutemen, along with post-punk heroes Magazine and The Skids. "Lots of stuff that doesn't get played on the radio anymore," as James has it.
"We don't get a chance to do mixtape parties cos we're too old," he adds, "and we don't do compilations on our laptops, so it's a good chance to do our own disco."
"It's nice to show where our inspiration comes from," says Nicky, "cos sometimes they do it better than we can."
