The last 3 years have been huge for Maxïmo Park. Their edgy, punk-tinged rock seems to have been launched into the ears of pretty much everyone. Clearly, employing the tactic of inserting a 'heavy metal umlaut' over the 'i' in their name has worked out for them, much as it did for Mötley Crüe and, of course, Motörhead.
We do have a sneaky suspicion, however, that heavy metal umlaut or no heavy metal umlaut, Maxïmo Park would still be a great band with banging tunes. How do we know this? Well, just watch their gig below and you'll understand.
