Alex Turner and Miles Kane
The former Rascals man and the Arctic Monkeys head honcho joined forces back in 2008 for an album as The Last Shadow Puppets. Miles has since launched a solo career, but the door's still open for some Northern Bromance. Photo: PA

Dave Grohl and Josh Homme
The Nirvana tub-thumper and Foo Fighters boss and the Queens Of The Stone Age frontman had the same background in hard-rocking punk bands, so it was no surprise that they'd buddy up. Grohl joined QOTSA as a guest drummer on 2002's Songs For The Deaf, while their Bromance became official with the formation of Them Crooked Vultures, which saw the duo team up with Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones. Flea and Thom Yorke
The sensitive, intellectual, experimental Radiohead singer in a group with the wild, bass-wielding man-beast from Red Hot Chili Peppers? It happened! Mr Flea brought some funky bass stylings to the short-lived supergroup that played some dates to support Thommy's album The Eraser. Flea kept his shirt and pants on throughout, so it just goes to show, Bromance can change people. Photo: Getty

George Harrison and Eric Clapton
George: 12-string playing Beatles guitar hero to millions. Eric: axe god of The Yardbirds, then stellar solo artist. It was no surprise that the two superstars would become showbiz pals, but it was something of a shocker that the two remained firm friends even after Clapton nipped off with Harrison's wife. Well, it WAS the 1960s. Photo: Getty

Iggy Pop and David Bowie
(Suggested by George Bellamy-Adams) The ultimate Glam Bromance? With Iggy's career with the Stooges pretty much dead by the mid-1970s thanks to his rampant drug use, he checked into rehab and was visited by pop acquaintance David Bowie. The two started an enduring Bromance, which saw Iggy join Bowie on tour and resulted in the pair shacking up in Berlin to produce four great albums, all released in 1977: Iggy's The Idiot and Lust For Life and Bowie's Low and "Heroes". Damon Albarn and Paul Simonon
The former Clash legend joined Damon for one of his side projects, The Good The Bad And The Queen before becoming part of the Gorillaz touring party for the Plastic Beach tour.

Johnny Marr and Ryan Jarman
The Smiths guitar legend unexpectedly became part of The Cribs back in 2009 for the album Ignore The Ignorant. But guitarist Ryan Jarman claimed he was one of the boys, telling Xfm: "We're all on exactly the same level, If anything he kind of provokes us into stuff." Lads. Photo: PA

Liam Gallagher and Robbie Williams
(Suggested by Joseph Thomas Walker on Facebook) Sometimes Bromances don't last. Following his estrangement from Take That in 1995, Robbie Williams was seen embracing Britpop by hanging out with Liam Gallagher at that year's Glastonbury festival. However, relations between the Oasis frontman and the "fat dancer" soon soured and Liam picked up a Q Award in 2000, saying "This one's for Robbie as usual - he stands for the letter Q". At the Brit Awards two years later, Robbie retorted: “A hundred grand of your money and a hundred grand of my money. We’ll get in a ring and we’ll have a fight.” We're still waiting. Photo: PA

Noel Fielding and Serge Pizzorno
The Mighty Boosh funny man and the Kasabian guitarist are constantly seen in each other's company. Noel appeared in the band's video for Vlad The Impaler, then Serge returned the favour by writing the music for his new E4 show, Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy. Photo: Getty

Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller
The Modfather and the Oasis man fostered an atmosphere of mutual respect for each other, prompting a lasting friendship and a couple of collaborations, including the song Echoes Of The Sun. Probably the best-dressed Bromance on our list today. Photo: PA

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat
(suggested by Jack Tomlinson and Michael Lawler). The ultimate indie bromance, the latter years of The Libertines were nothing by emotionally-charged drama which culminated in a painful split. But time can't keep a Bromance down, and the pair couldn't stay away from each other… and the Libs got back together in 2010. Yay! Photo: PA

Tom Smith and Andy Burrows
(suggested by Dave Patterson and Michael Lawler) Mr Editors and The Artist Formerly Known As Razorlight's Drummer first got together for some impromptu noodling back in 2008, but it was Christmas 2011 when they finally made an album - the festive Funny Looking Angels. Photo: Andy Squire

Jack Black and Kyle Gass
Actor Black and musician Gass first met back in 1989 when both were performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, but it wasn't until 1994 that the duo finally settled on a name for their rock-based noodlings: Tenacious D. A short TV series followed, until Dave Grohl encouraged them to do it for real and the legendary Tribute was born. Photo: PA
