Name:
Daniel Frederick Wallace
Place of birth:
Dundee, Scotland
Describe your Xfm show in three words:
Funny, warm, inclusive, numerically-illiterate.
What's listed as your occupation on your passport?
I think they stopped doing that in the 1980s. You might need to get a new one. I think yours might be fake.
What's your favourite place in London?
The seats by the fireplace in the Yorkshire Grey, Langham Street.
What would be your perfect evening?
I'd sit down in my Xfm t-shirt, on my Xfm rug, drinking from my Xfm mug of Xfm beer, I'd dim my Xfm lights and close my Xfm door, order an Xfm curry, perhaps a cheeky bottle of Xfm Sauvignon Blanc, and I'd listen to Capital.
Who is your favourite band of all time?
The Beatles.
Which musician would you most like to be, living or dead?
Definitely living.
What was the first album you bought?
Now That's What I Call Music 3, followed by the soundtrack from Back to the Future. The latter was stolen along with our bright red E reg Nissan Micra in the late 1980s. I don't know if you remember that. If you do, it was probably you that stole it. The car was later found in a reservoir near Loughborough, as if you don't bloody know. The tape has not been seen since. I'm just saying - return it and we'll say no more about it.
Which is your favourite album of all time?
The greatest one ever made.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
My little boy. Because I made him entirely out of lego.
What is the highlight of your career so far?
Maybe filming my sitcom pilot in LA. Or riding past Xfm in an open top bus with Jim Carrey at the premiere of Yes Man.
...And what is the low point?
I feature on the Best of Loose Women DVD.
What was the first ever gig you went to?
Oasis, in a cricket club pavilion in Bath, a night or two before they played Glastonbury for the first time. My ears hurt for days afterwards, and I accidentally bought a t-shirt four sizes too small.
What's your idea of hell?
A really long list of random questions and a tight deadline.
Which bad habit irritates you the most?
Rudeness, aggression, arrogance and pressing a lift button when I've already clearly just pressed it.
What's your favourite film?
King of Kong is pretty amazing. Hang on, what do you mean you're not interested in a two-hour documentary about a Donkey Kong championship in rural America? Just. Watch. It!
Who is your hero?
Steve Wiebe, Donkey Kong champion.
We're buying - what's your tipple?
I choose my drinks like I choose my team: the simpler the better. So lager, please. But I'd like you to wear little shorts while you order.
What do you think about when the records are playing on Xfm?
How can I ensure that this next link ties in directly with the thoughts and concerns of the Xfm key demographic in a way that our advertisers, sponsors and partners will respond to in a viable, time-efficient and valuable way and also when can I have another coffee please?
What's in your pockets at the moment?
Keys, £3.82, a handgun, a monocle and six tiny pine cones.
Is the glass half empty or half full?
It is always half full. It is never half empty. Also, it's not a glass, it's a glove, because a glass full of love is a glove, a bit like the way our hands are wrapped in the warmth and comfort of a glove when one really needs the... sorry, the glass was half full and I drank it and it was vodka.
If you could meet any one person (from history or currently alive), who would it be?
The currently alive one. What is it with you and these weird choices?
What's your catchphrase?
My catchphrase is, "It's Timmy Time!!!!!" but I've never ever said it.
What is the most important thing in life?
This: Be nice. Get involved. Have fun.
How would you sum up Xfm in one word?
Beststationaround. Next!
