Blur Reunion May Take Years

Former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon spoke exclusively to Xfm about those reunion rumours.

Speaking at the launch of the Crisis charity's Consequences Live campaign, Coxon was rueful about the prospects of a full Blur reunion happening any time soon.

"I suppose the rumours [of a reunion] are based on some sort of fact," he said. "It's kind of naive to expect a group to get back together after years of not really communicating really well and under that amount of pressure. But steps have been made to talk."

He continued: "We all met up in a restaurant and it was nice but it was small talk, really, just catching up with friends like you do and it was all very odd.

"Nothing like recording was discussed and of course we're all busy. I think it's something that might happen when everybody feels ready and that might be years.

"And we're all doing stuff individually that's really fulfulling and that doesn't have to change. Pressure is the main obstacle, perhaps going back to make a record with Blur is a risk for all of us."

Coxon will be appearing as part of the Crisis Consequences supergroup at the Roundhouse on March 2. The one-off show will see a performance of an as-yet-unnamed specially recorded track that features contributions from Coxon, Paul Weller, Supergrass, Gossip, Babyshambles' Drew McConnell, Supergrass and New Young Pony Club amongst many others.

Tickets for the charity show are on sale now and can be bought here
