White Lies Announce New Album

Fans can expect to hear some new material when they play Xfm's Winter Wonderland next month...

The band has announced their new album will be called 'Ritual' and is due out on January 17.

Jack from the band told Xfm about the title: "the album is a lot about religion and a lot about love and they're two subjects which the idea of ritual fits very nicely into. It seemed to be a theme that was recurring through the whole album when we were thinking about giving it a title."

The ten track album will follow up 2009's number one album 'To Lose My Life...' and was produced by Max Dingel and  Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails).

Jack says they're excited about its release: "it's been completely finished for a little while now. We've been sitting on it patiently for a while doing all the stuff that we need to get finished - artwork, videos, that kind of thing - which is a lot of fun but at the same time a little frustrating. I think we are definitely ready to get it out there and let people hear it."

On Monday we announced White Lies will be joining Mona, The Drums, Two Door Cinema Club and The Manic Street Preachers on the bill for our annual Christmas bash at O2 Academy Brixton on December 15.

Jack told us it has always been an iconic venue for them: "It's the biggest venue in London that we used to go to as teenagers. We also played a couple of nights at Brixton at the end of UK touring for the last album last year in Decemebr and that was an amazing thing to do, it felt like a big achievement. It's a huge, huge venue."

Tickets go on sale on friday November 5 at 9am from the Xfm Xchange on 084547 83936 and via the Xfm Ticket Shop.
