The White Stripes Sued By DJ

added 25 February 2008 at 04.31

Jack'n'Meg have found themselves on the receiving end of a Canadian DJ's wrath over the use of an unauthorised sample.

Dominique Payette's claim is that The White Stripes used a 10-second sample of her show on the track 'Jumble Jumble' from the band's second album, 'De Stijl' without her permission.

According to reports on Pitchfork, the DJ is seekeing damages of $70,000 for violation of privacy and injunction preventing the further distribution of the album which was released in 2000.

No comment has been forthcoming from either The White Stripes or their management.

Frankly, Xfm would be honoured to be sampled by The White Stripes but  hey, that's just us...
