The Long Blondes Reveal Album Details

Frontwoman Kate Jackson of glam punk rockers The Long Blondes has spoken of the self-proclaimed brilliance of their anticipated second album 'Couples' due for release in April.

Work on the follow-up to their long awaited debut, 'Someone To Drive You Home', has been completed and is due for release on April 7.

Produced by Erol Alkan, Jackson is thrilled with the final product which she feels marks a considerable step on from their debut and demonstrates their musical growth, telling Gigwise:

“We’ve changed from basically a garage band who couldn’t play, to being an inventive, collaborative art project, which is what we’ve always wanted to be."

In terms of what should be expected from the record, expect a move away from their previous "indie guitar pop" towards "disco".  She explained:

“There’s a lot of Eno synth sounds in there. I think it’s cleverer in a lot of ways, without sounding too pretentious.”

A new single 'Guilt' will be released by the Sheffield five-piece on March 24
