The Flaming Lips Musical Confirmed
The Flaming Lips have confirmed details about a new musical based on their 2002 album 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots'...
The production is being put on in in San Diego from November.
It follows Yoshimi, a young Japanese artist who journeys to a fantastical robot-world who, according to the audition details, must be Asian or "A beautiful, first generation Asian-American," to play a "visual artist and later a Freedom Fighter."
It will also feature some kind of love triangle/war between Yoshimi and her two boyfriends: Ben - a "gawky" computer / graphic designer type and Booker - an "athletic" investment counselor and broker who "must be a good mover".
All three need to be comfortable with aeriel work and heights apparently.
