X-clusive: The Chavs' Songwriting Contest

Speaking X-clusively to Xfm, Dirty Pretty Things' frontman and former Libertine Carl Barat explained what his side project The Chavs have got in mind. It ain't pretty, that's for sure...
The Chavs - the very occasional group made up of Carl Barat, Charlatans vocalist Tim Burgess, Primal Scream keyboardist Martin Duffy, Klaxons' Jaime Reynolds and Razorlight tubthumper Andy Burrows - have had a chequered history to say the least.
Having scaled the heights of playing Los Angeles, London's exclusive Cuckoo Club and...er...the salubrious environs of Chatham's Tap & Tin, Carl Barat explained what's next on the cards for the band:
"It's just been suggested by Tim Burgess that me and the other semi-permanent Chav member Jaime Klaxon write a song each and sort of go head-to-head and maybe record it...but I might be a little busy for that," explained Barat while referring to the ongoing problems blighting the progress of Dirty Pretty Things' second album (see here)
However, Barat remained optimistic for The Chavs' future:
"But certainly these things have a habit of materialising very quickly which is why they're usually so rubbish but it'd be good to do the first good Chavs thing."
Not to mention the day job, eh Carl?
