The Black Keys Get Intimate

added 07 February 2008 at 16.49

The blues loving duo has announced details of a special intimate gig ahead of the release of their new album.

Akron, Ohio's favourite sons The Black Keys will preview their new and sixth album, the Danger Mouse-produced 'Attack & Release', at the 300 capacity Wiltons Music Hall, London on March 20.

Tickets, priced £15, go on sale at 9am Friday February 8 and are exclusively available through Ticketweb.

'Attack & Release' marks the first time that The Black Keys have worked with an outside producer. The collaboration came about after Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz) asked the band to contribute songs for an album that the producer was working on with Ike Turner. However, when the legendary Turner died in the middle of recording, Danger Mouse then turned his attentions to The Black Keys.

Speaking to Mojo of the new album, singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach explained:

"[Danger Mouse] wanted to make a record with us so we did and he was a great collaborator."

The results will be revealed when 'Attack & Release' is released on V2 on March 31
