Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac stars for the Foo Fighters side project Sound City Players…

Dave Grohl's Sound City Players side-project will play a show at the Sundance Film Festival next week… and he's revealed the all-star line-up.

The Foo Fighters man will be joined by his former Nirvana colleague Krist Novoselic at the show on January 18 in Utah. Also joining the band will be Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks, and Foos Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Taylor Hawkins and Nate Mendel. There will be contributions from Creedence Clearwater Revival veteran John Fogerty, Rage Against The Machine's Brad Wilk and Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen.

The whole project is to accompany the screening of a documentary celebrating the Sound City studios in Los Angeles, which hosted the recording of Nirvana's Nevermind, plus albums by Neil Young, Metallica, RATM and many more. The facility closed in 2011.
