Soundgarden to Release "Weird" New Album

The band have confirmed they'll release a new record in November...
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine guitairist Kim Thayil described the new album as a "little weird" but with the disclaimer that:
"It re-establishes that we still rock, we're still heavy"
Speaking to Xfm earlier this year frontman Chris Cornell explained that the big break for the band - who split up 12 years ago - hasn't been a problem.
"If anything it has helped us," he confessed to Xfm's Mary Anne Hobbs. "Certainly in writing and recording the new album it's feels very fresh. Everyone is included and an equal part of it musically and it feels very natural and expressive and we're going in new directions we never did before."
Track Live to Rise - which featured on the soundtrack to The Avengers Assemble - was the first new material fans had heard in a decade and a half.
The new album is due out on November 12 in the UK.
