Ian Brown - 'Unfinished Monkey Business'

The simian superstar goes solo... with impressive results.
Two years after The Stone Roses crashed and burned, Brown was back with a solo album titled after the unflattering simian comparisons his dancing encouraged. Essentially, it's Ian's equivalent of John Lennon's 'Plastic Ono Band' record, concerning itself with the acrimonious relationship between the singer and Roses guitarist John Squire, particularly 'What Happened To Ya', which claims 'The pawns around you were not part of the plan' amongst other things. The single 'My Star' remainsone of Brown's greatest solo moments.
