Electronic - 'Electronic'

When Mancunian guitar heroes collide...
Two guitar-wielding giants. In one corner, Bernard Sumner - the man who designed the post-punk blueprint in Joy Division and then gave it funk in New Order. In the other, Johnny Marr - the songwriting colossus that powered The Smiths alongside Morrissey and inspired hundreds of guitarists to wear their hair like Brian Jones and jangle for all they were worth. So it was a surprise for some people when their side project Electronic turned out to be a shimmering slab of electro-pop. But was it? Marr had played in some funk outfits in his time, while Sumner knew how to fill a dancefloor. Throw in a guest appearance from the Pet Shop Boys and you have one of the 90s' most underrated pop albums.
