Elbow - 'The Seldom Seen Kid'

added 02 July 2009 at 15.36

Guy Garvey finally makes it big. And about time, too.

Following over a decade of underrated albums, Elbow finally made good with their - count 'em! - fourth outing, 'The Seldom Seen Kid'. The title, and some of the lyrical content, is dedicated to the Mancunian musician Bryan Glancy. With some typically delicate songs, the album hit a nerve and it must have been a hard-hearted soul that begrudged them the Mercury Music Prize award of 2008. Go Elbow!

  1. Great Album and the the best of the list by a mile, but overlooking The Chameleons, Puressence and I am Kloot is unforgivable!
