New UK Tour And Release For Eels

The Eels (aka Mark Everett) are hitting the UK road in February 2008 for a rare and no doubt brilliant UK tour in support of the new 'best of' and 'rarities' releases.
To celebrate their ten year anniversary the legendary Eels are planning a one off six date UK tour alongside two new releases.
The shows - billed as 'An Evening With The Eels' kick off on February 25 at London's Royal Festival Hall, taking in various venues across the country before culminating in a final gig at Brighton's Dome (March 2).
Tickets for the shows are available from the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or from the Xfm Online Ticket Shop by clicking here.
The jaunt will support the release on January 21 of their first greatest hits compilation as well as a collection of rarities, b-sides and unreleased tracks.
'Meet The Eels: Essential Eels Vol. 1 1996 - 2006' spans a decade of The Eels with 24 specially selected songs, including four from their seminal album 'Beautiful Freak' and a previously unreleased remix of 'Climbing To The Moon'.
'Eels Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks Rarities and Unreleased 1996 - 2006' is made up of 50 tracks - including a previously unreleased cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' 'I Put A Spell On You' - as well as a DVD of the band's 2006 Lollapalooza performance.
And to cap off the Eels news onslaught, a documentary film about the life of Eels frontman Mark Oliver Everett ('E') and his father - 'Many Worlds Theory' author Hugh Everett III - will be making its TV premiere on BBC4 on November 26 at 9pm.
The full UK tour dates are as follows:
- London Royal Festival Hall (February 25)
- Birmingham Town Hall (26)
- Manchester Bridgewater Hall (27)
- Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (28)
- Gateshead Sage (March 1)
- Brighton Dome (2)
