Ben and Winston from Mumford & Sons have admitted to Xfm that they are nervous ahead of their first ever UK arena shows.

The band – whose long awaited second album Babel was released today – also announced today their upcoming Tour of Two Halves, which will see them play several small theatre shows in towns they've never been to in November before headlining arenas for the first time in this country in December.

Speaking to Xfm backstage ahead of their headlining set at iTunes Festival, Winston and Ben from the band admitted they admire bands who do the massive shows.

"We've done only five ever I think," Winston explained. "We did three in Canada, one in Portland, Oregon and one in Amsterdam and it was quite difficult. Big respect to bands who do arenas because, it's a big space to fill."

"It's hard to connect but it's also kind of epic and a part of us always wanted to achieve those things," Ben added.

The arena half of the tour will see them take in eight of the massive venues – and for Ben there is one in particular he is looking forward to.

"I've always wanted to play MEN. The MEN on that tour is the one that's going to be a really big deal. For me anyway."

The tour dates are:

21st November - Princess Theatre, Torquay

22nd November - Guildhall, Portsmouth

23rd November - Regent Theatre, Ipswich

25th November - Caird Hall, Dundee
