James Murphy: LCD Soundsystem Has Had A Very Slow Death

The musician explains how the new LCD movie has prolonged the project's life...
The new LCD Soundsystem film Shut Up and Play The Hits has been released to cinemas this week and James Murphy has been telling Xfm that it's prolonged the life of a project he thought he'd finished with.
"I was like, woo! My life starts now," he Xfm's John Kennedy Oh wait, we have to edit the film. No, I'm not going to involved in that. Oh wait, there's live footage, I need to be involved. Who'd going to mix it? Oh, I have to mix it. It's been a very slow death, I keep shooting it, but it keeps bubbling up."
The film was shot at the band's last ever gig in New York in April 2011.
