Hot Chip Contribute To Children's Book

added 24 January 2008 at 14.26

Are you sitting comfortably? Good. Then we shall begin because Hot Chip, noted cheese farmer Alex James and KT Tunstall are among 52 celebrities contributing to a new NSPCC book of bedtime stories.

Each of the 52 celebs - that's one for each week of the year - will contribute to the book in order to promote the new fund-raising directory enquiries number 118 520. For every call made, nine pence will be donated to the charity.

Said KT Tunstall: “I'm delighted to be part of a creative project dedicated to helping children in distress. Every child deserves a story at bedtime, and this story may help those who never get one.”

The project launched this month with the celebs contributing a few lines before passing them onto each other. A bit like the game 'Consequences' but with - spoiler alert! - a happy ending. And quite probably a princess who's in distress.

The completed tale will be read out at a special event later this year before being auctioned for charity to the highest bidder.
