Hot Chip Announce Oxjam Appearances

The band will be spinning records at two Oxfam shops to raise money for the charity....

The 'Hot Chip Vinyl Emporium' is coming to Glasgow and Manchester as part of the UK's biggest charity music festival, Oxjam.

Hot Chip and guests will be DJing in an Oxfam store in each of the cities to raise money for the charity.

The free afternoon gigs will take place in the Glasgow Byres Road shop on Friday October 12 and in Manchester Oxfam Emporium shop, Oldham Street on Saturday October 13.

It's the first time Oxfam stores have been converted into mini-music venues.

The band will also be helping the shops out with some exclusive merchandise by creating some "recommended by Hot Chip" racks of vinyl for fans to pick and choose from.

They'll also be donating some vinyl to the shop from their very own collections.

Joe Goddard from Hot Chip said: "We really enjoyed kicking off the Oxjam festival last week by throwing our own little party and playing some of the quality vinyl found fresh from the shops racks. It?ll be great to be able to do this again in Manchester and Glasgow, so we want to encourage as many people as possible to come down and join the party."
