Guillemots Return With Pop Record

Mercury Prize-nominated Guillemots are back with a new album, direction and a set of tour dates. The eleven track follow-up to 'Through The Windowpane' is the minimally entitled 'Red' is out on March 24.
It's understood that 'Red' sees the band moving into more pop-orientated waters. Speaking of the band's second album, singer Fyfe Dangerfield commented:
“We didn’t want to make 'Through The Windowpane 2'. That was a softer record. This time around we just wanted to make a bunch of pop songs that punched, instantly.
“To make pop songs that demand your attention, that make you stop in your tracks when they come on the radio, that's our ultimate ambition.”
'Red' sees all four Guillemots sharing writing credits and has been co-produced by U2 and Paul McCartney engineer Adam Noble.
Guillemots hit the road in March in support of 'Red'. Tickets for the shows are on sale now and can be purchased from the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or from the Xfm Online Ticket Shop by here.
The tour dates are:
- Manchester Ritz (March 9)
- Oxford Academy (10)
- London Shepherd's Bush Empire (11)
