The Stooges Do Madonna

The Motor City's legendary punk godfathers Iggy & The Stooges are set to perform a set of Madonna covers when the pop queen is inducted to the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame at this year's ceremony.
In one of the most bizarre twists in recent musical memory, Iggy & The Stooges will play a number of her most famous songs when Madonna is inducted on March 10 at the annual ceremony to be held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York.
Not only do Iggy & The Stooges share the same home town of Detroit with Madonna, but the band also opened for the singer's 2004 Dublin gigs.
This year's inductees also include Leonard Cohen, The Dave Clarke Five, John Mellencamp and The Ventures.
The Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame has also announced the induction of guitarist Little Walter in its sideman category and the newly-named 'Ahmet Ertegun Award' will go to trailblazing Philly soul producers Gamble & Huff.
