Kasabian Triumph At Soccer Six

Soccer six - the annual celeb vs. journalists football tournament - took place yesterday with Kasabian, The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding, The Automatic and The Twang all taking part.

Xfm headed down to the Soccer Six Reading leg at the Majedski Stadium this weekend (Monday, May 27), a charity football match which saw celebrity and journalist teams pitted against each other, with a sprinkling of ex-pros for good measure.

The teams included The Twang, The Automatic, The Comedy Six (including The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding), The Hoosiers and the eventual winners - The Sun, headed up by Bizarre's Gordon Smart alongside Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno, The Music's Rob Harvey and The Hours' Andy Genn.

Noel Fielding joined the winners on the pitch to present them with their trophies alongside runners-up McFly, with Serge receiving a second accolade as top goal scorer of the tournament.

Sipping champagne from the silver trophy cup, Serge told Xfm: "We didn't come here for tea and biscuits, we came here to win and that's exactly what we did."

Meanwhile Noel - whose team lost early on despite a stunning goal from the man himself - also lost out off the pitch, telling Xfm: "Someone stole my football shirt while I was in the shower, I felt like Huckleberry Finn when he came out the river. Being the trophy master was a bonus though."
