Gary Lightbody Records Solo Material?

Snow Patrol's frontman Gary Lightbody has been busy recording solo music, with a whole new direction to his previous material. Will it be death metal? Ska punk? Peruvian flute music? Read on...
The news came to fruition when Steve Bays of Hot Hot Heat - the Canadian band who supported Snow Patrol on their recent American tour - inadvertedly revealed all in an interview with the BBC stating,
"[Lightbody] is working on a project in his home studio, he was talking to me about a bunch of stuff that doesn’t sound like Snow Patrol at all, I think he is just being creative and he is not thinking about it as a Snow Patrol project.”
And it seems Lightbody's enthusiasm for the project is infectious with Bays adding, "When you see it in his eyes and see how excited he is, it inspires you.”
But with Lightbody branching further into the arena of solo experimentation - producing 'Just Say Yes' for Nicole Scherzinger's debut album 'Her Name Is Nicole' (released January 29) - fans have nothing to worry about yet with no indication this may affect the band.
In fact, Snow Patrol are headlining this Sunday (November 25) at London's Union Chapel for the Mencap Little Noise Sessions alongside former Moloko singer Roisin Murphy and Cajun Dance Party.
