Frank Black Free Gig - Venue Update!

Ahead of his NME Awards Koko gig, the former Pixies frontman will be playing a special free gig in the heart of London. And we know where it is...
As has been his wont, Frank Black has been playing a number of free acoustic gigs ahead of the main event on his current tour. As the tour rolls into the capital, the erstwhile Pixies head honcho has decided that London is no different and will therefore be playing a special free gig ahead of tomorrow's (February 13) NME Awards gig at Koko in Camden.
The event should prove memorable if his recent pre-core in Ireland is anything to go by:
Black told Xfm: "I had to get taken away by the police in Dublin 'cos suddenly there was like 1000 people and we were all trying to get into this park and the polie were trying to get everyone out of there.
I felt like Bob Dylan playing 'Blowing In The Wind' - it was really something, i've never experienced anything like it."
Despite original plans to hold the gig at Waxy O'Connor's bar, police pulled the event (no doubt warned off by their Irish counterparts) forcing the venue to be changed.
He explained: “I am utilizing blogs and forums like frankblack.net and my own official blackfrancis.net to discuss with fans not only what songs I might perform ESPECIALLY for their town, but also to investigate best locale for me to take my espresso, best Thai food, best bar for pre-show cocktail, best place to score heroin (just kidding!), etc.
"Also, I will be running a paparazzi photo contest of yours truly patronizing your local hot spots, and announcing precise locations for my ‘pre-core’ performances. You see, I despise performing the much debased encore, and so on this tour I will be performing solo acoustic ‘pre-cores’ at pre-determined meeting points (maybe YOUR kitchen!); and, yes, I will be taking Pixies requests.”
