Bestival picks up ‘Best Major Festival’ and Camp Bestival got ‘Best Family Festival’...

Last night was the seventh year of the awards which celebrate everything from performances to toilets!

AC/DC’s performance at Donington’s Download Festival was the comfortable winner of the ‘Headline Performance of the Year’ award - it was the band's first festival appearance since he early eighties.

Mumford & Sons, Florence & The Machine, Paolo Nutini and Biffy Clyro were also all honoured at the event at IndigO2.

Meanwhile Camden Crawl picked up 'Best Metropolitan Festival' - with the Mayor of Camden reportedly going up to pick up the award and declaring Camden "the rock n roll capital of the UK if not the world" and declaring war on “fakers” like Shoreditch!

T In The Park got the now legendary honour of ‘Best Toilets’

James Drury, Managing Director of UK Festival Awards Ltd said: "This year's Awards were the most hotly-contested we've had, with over half a million votes, demonstrating just how important festivals are to the UK public. Despite the continued challenges of the economy it’s been an incredible year for festivals and the Awards is all about celebrating that. The winners should be rightly proud of their achievements, as should the rest of the industry."
