Guy Garvey says Elbow's upcoming UK arena tour will be the last we hear from them for a while.

He's told The Sun that they're going to head off to do other things after the dates - which he describes as a "farewell party".

However it isn't the end - he added that they've got six or so songs written, which they will return to next year.

Garvey is having 2013 off to work on the music for a new stage musical adaptation of King Kong that's being put on in Australia.

The band play a massive homecoming show at the Manchester Arena on December 1 and then The 02 Arena in London on December 2.

Nov 26 - Capital FM Arena, Nottingham

Nov 27 - Wembley Arena, London

Nov 28 - National Indoor Arena, Birmingham

Nov 29 - Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool

Dec 1 - Manchester Arena, Manchester

Dec 2 - O2 arena, London
