Coldplay Complete Mixing New Album

Coldplay have finished mixing their fourth studio album, and the as-yet-untitled record is set for an early summer release.
The band’s manager Dave Holmes told Billboard the band also plan to tour Europe and North America this summer.
“We’re just about finished. They’re in the final mixing. They’ll start mastering, and away we go. I think it’s their best album, they’ve really delivered. It’s a fantastic record, they’ve really put the work in.”
They’ve been working with producers Brian Eno and Markus Dravs on the album since November of 2006 at their own studio in North London, as well as in Barcelona and New York.
Despite the constant changes at Coldplay’s label EMI, which has resulted in some big-name departures including the likes of Radiohead and Paul McCartney, Holmes revealed it had little impact on the band.
“When all that was going on we were over here (in London) in the studio, so we kind of steered clear of all that. We’ve got a great plan in place.”
Touring plans are currently being prepared, and Holmes says the band are working with director/set designer Paul Normandale on a few ideas.
“If we can pull this off it’s going to be quite different. We’re going to try something a little different in the arena space. The guys are really eager to get back on the road.”
The Observer reported yesterday (February 24) one of the band's new tracks, 'Song For The Escapist', will feature on the closing credits of new British film The Escapist.
Rumours are circulating the band will headline this year's V Festival along with Muse in August.
