Bjork UK Tour Revealed

added 19 November 2007 at 13.03

Bjork has announced details of her first UK tour in four years, with plans to hit the UK road with new album 'Volta' in April 2008.

The Icelandic pop queen will kick off her eight date jaunt in Manchester on April 11 before hitting London's Hammersmith Apollo for a two night residency on April 14 and 17.

Bjork - who last played on English soils this summer at Glastonbury Festival - will continue on her tour for another three weeks, taking in cities such as Belfast, Blackpool and Plymouth.

Tickets for all shows priced at £36 (except London at £40) go on sale this Thursday November 22 at 9am and will be available from the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or from the Xfm Online Ticket Shop by clicking here.

The quirky singer - who will be backed by a ten-piece all female Icelandic brass section - plans to showcase tracks from her latest album 'Volta', which was released back in May 2007

Meanwhile, it was announced that new single 'Declare Independence' (her third to be taken from 'Volta') will be hitting our shelves on January 1.

The full UK tour dates are as follows (with some promising gaps in between scheduled shows suggesting there may be more to come):

  • Manchester Apollo (April 11)
  • London Hammersmith Apollo (14, 17)
  • Plymouth Pavillions (22)
  • Wolverhampton Civic Hall (25)
  • Belfast Waterfront (28)
  • Blackpool Empress Ballroom (May 1)
  • Sheffield City Hall (4)
