Biffy Clyro played an intimate acoustic session - just 300 people! - at the Borderline on Monday to celebrate the release of their new album Opposites the very same day.

The double album is the follow up to 2009's Only Revolutions and once again features artwork done by the legendary Storm Thorgerson - who has also done work for the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Mars Volta and Muse.

"The artwork is the first thing you see when you pick up a CD or a vinyl and it canexplain so much about the music before you've even listened to it. I think it can really tie in with the music. That is something that is very important to us," James from the band told us.

The album cover is a picture of a tree bent over to one side - and is based on one of the world's oldest trees.

James explained that the artwork conveys a deeper meaning about the troubles of being in one of the world's greatest rock bands.

"I guess the theory goes that the winds of time and nature have transpired against this tree to blow over but it has really strong roots. I think that kind of refers to us with our friends and family and people at home and those around you. Life can through all kind of things at you but if you have strong roots you can stay standing."
