Beatles Back Catalogue For TV Ads

The Fab Four's entire back catalogue is now available for use in TV ads. But there is a catch...
20 years after The Beatles successfully sued Nike for the unauthorised use of 'Revolution' in a TV advertisement, it has emerged that The Fab Four's entire back catalogue is now available for use by TV advertisers.
The first deal has already been struck and Procter & Gamble will use 'All You Need Is Love' to promote Luvs nappies in the U.S.
It has also been confirmed that fashion company Lyric Culture will use 'Let It Be' and 'Revolution' for their forthcoming campaigns.
The rights to the 259 songs composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney are owned by Sony/ATV and the songs can only be used under the proviso that they are recorded by other artists.
Sony/ATV's Chief Executive Martin Bandier said that all potential campaigns would be discussed with the surviving members and relatives of The Beatles.
Rumours that it'll be just a matter of time before Colmans are clamouring to use 'Mean Mr Mustard' or that 'Help!' will promote Yellow Pages remain entirely unfounded.
