Mike D can foresee "making music" and reveals final demos with Adam Yauch…

Mike Diamond of the Beastie Boys has revealed that the band made some demos with Adam "MCA" Yauch last autumn. Yauch died following a long battle with cancer on May 4, but his colleagues have revealed that the trio recorded some tracks towards the end of 2011.

"Adam instigated it," Diamond told Rolling Stone. "It could only come from him, in terms of where he was at with treatment. It was stuff we had written or demo-ed, and there were new ideas. He wasn't sure he was able to do vocals. But after a bit, we ended up doing them. And he was fine. It was a way for him to say, Yeah, I'm doing it."

Diamond also admitted that he and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz were considering carrying on, but whether they would use the Beastie Boys name was up for debate. "I can see [us] making music," he said. "I don't know about a band format. But Yauch would genuinely want us to try whatever crazy thing we wanted but never got around to."
