Arctic Monkeys and Adele Up for Independent Music Awards

Frank Turner and Alabama Shakes have got two nominations each for this year's AIM Independent Music Awards...

The likes of Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy and Adele have been shortlisted for this year's AIM Independent Music Awards.

Frank Turner and Alabama Shakes have got two nominations each for the awards honouring acts signed to independent record labels - while Enter Shikari are leaders of the pack with three nominations.

"Its an honour to be nominated for not one but three awards. the Independent Album of the Year and Best Live Act award nominations mean a lot to us, and the Hardest Working Band feels appropriate right now (at time of writing, we're in a jet lagged haze in Brisbane, Australia)," Enter Shikari commented.

"Even if we end up walking away with no actual awards, it was nice that the independent world thought of us enough to nominate us for these coveted gongs. Bring it on."

The winners are being announced at the end of October.
