White Lies: Making the Debut Album Felt "Unpleasant"

The band claim living up to the hype was an uncomfortable experience...
The band are preparing to release their follow up to 2009's 'To Lose My Life', which debuted at number one in the UK album charts.
'Ritual' is released Monday January 17 and was written in frontman Harry McVeigh's living room in about five weeks.
Speaking to Xfm's Eoghan McDermott, in for Steve Harris on the O2 Evening Show, Charlie from the band said making album number two was much more enjoyable:
"When we were making the first record I remember little more than being stressed and at times quite miserable because we didn't really know what we were doing and there was a lot of pressure on us. We'd barely been in a proper recording studio before so suddenly being stuck with some form of expectation on us from different sources it felt... unpleasant."
The band are celebrating the release of 'Ritual' with a free show in the HMV on London's Oxford Street at 6pm on January 17 with a signing session afterwards.
They then embark on a ten date UK tour next month.
The dates are:
Feb 4 - Junction 1, Cambridge
Feb 6 - Norwich U.E.A.
Feb 7 - Brighton Dome
Feb 9 - O2 Academy Bristol, Bristol
Feb 10 - O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London
Feb 11 - O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London
Feb 13 - O2 Academy Leeds, Leeds
Feb 14 - HMV Institute, Birmingham
Feb 17 - O2 Academy Newcastle
Feb 18 - Academy, Manchester
